Parents Achieving Leadership Initiative (PAL)

Durham Companions is very excited about launching our new initiative with our parents. Parents Achieving Leadership (PAL) is an effort to involve the parents of our participants and provide parental support.

This component will engage parents to become partners in our efforts and assist them with training and skills on effective parenting. We will educate parents with a better understanding of the role of the mentor with their children, and to offer guidelines for strengthening the relationship for all of them.

The goal of the initiative will sponsor quarterly workshops on topics such as Budgeting; Effective Communications and Discipline Skills; Emergency Action Plan and Educational Planning, etc. We look forward to building a partnership with our parents, as we build a stronger environment for our youth.
